    NB Kitsap-Bremerton, WA History

NB Kitsap was created from Naval Station Bremerton and Submarine Base Bangor in 2004. NS Bremerton was created to support, oversee, and receive ships from the Naval Shipyard Puget Sound, which share space on the shore of Sinclair Inlet. Naval Station Bremerton and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard played a vital role building and repairing navy vessels for World War One and Two, and the long Cold War, with Naval Station Bremerton housing a varying number of ships for the Pacific Fleet.

Today, the Bremerton Annex of NB Kitsap is homeport for two carriers, the USS John C. Stennis, and the USS Ronald Reagan, and two Seawolf-class submarines, the USS Seawolf and the USS Connecticut.
