    The main hospital offering emergency services near Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton is the Naval Hospital Bremerton. The hospital offers inpatient services and surgical facilities as well as radiological and laboratory facilities.

    Naval Hospital Bremerton is the main military medical treatment (MTF) facility in the Bremerton area. Under its' command is the Branch Medical Clinic onboard the Shipyard. The Madigan Army Medical Center is located in Tacoma about 45 minutes south of Bremerton. The Dept. of Defense Health Care Plan, TRICARE, is very well established in this area. All TRICARE "Prime" enrollees living within 20 miles of the Naval Hospital will be assigned a Primary Care Manager (PCM) and receive care through one of the primary care entry points such as: Family Practice or Pediatrics Clinics. All clinics accept children.

    For families living outside the 20 mile radius, TRICARE "Prime" with a co-payment is available through the Group Health Cooperative in the closest neighborhood. TRICARE "Standard" with a co-payment is the other option allowing families to see any physician in the area who accepts TRICARE payments. All families selecting the TRICARE Prime option need to enroll. This is currently being done at the TRICARE Service Center located at the Naval Hospital Third Floor lobby adjacent to the patient waiting area.
